No matter how much it cost, it can never be compared to the cost of Triple A titles like Red Dead 2, God of War, Cyberpunk but it IS COMPARED to Similar titles of the same Genre space, and most if not all of them are much inferior in quality. There is no better Pixel JRPG currently available on any platform so in the Pixel JRPG space Octopath is arguably the most triple A game there is. It's not about how expensive/inexpensive the graphics / art is, it's about the quality of the product COMPARED to games of similar Genre. It's priced like that mostly for the following reasons 
They are mostly the same people that doing it in every forum anyway
Feel free to ignore the trolls that post about it in every Forum that exists. So if you want to Download the game and then not go online for the next Month, that might be a problem for youĬonclusion there are arguments to be made about the implementation of 3rd party DRM, but hindering of performance is NOT one of them.
The only real Downside is that Denuvo needs Internet connection to check-in once every 15-30 days (it varies based on implementation). 
Games that suffer from such issues are either patched soon after or have DRM removed. Denuvo at it's current version works as intended if implemented correctly and that has been proven countless times. So if a Developer (although that's a rare occurrence) doesn't implement the Denuvo code into the game Code as intended, there will be bugs. The parts are there the tech is there but if you fail to put them together, your wardrobe will be tilting and probably falling apart.
Edit NOTE: Imagine Denuvo as a Wardrobe from IKEA. Recent example is Rage 2, although Developers chose to Remove DRM in that case instead of fixing it since the game had been already cracked anyway. Those issues are for the Developers to Fix not for the Denuvo Team. There are cases where the Developers implement the DRM poorly and that can actually cause issues. In recent years it's been patched and it has Zero impact on performance. It used to cause major performance issues back in the days. Yes Developers are aware that it can be bypassed in a few days in some cases, but even a single Day of Denuvo working is good enough sale-wise.
